VPD Construction holds an unlimited commercial building licence and delivers new commercial buildings, fit-outs and refurbishments across Melbourne and Queensland. We aim to be involved from the concept and planning stage, working with the consultant team to find efficiencies in the design before anyone is on site.
Bars and Restaurants
Hospitality fit-outs are judged on two things: whether the room feels right, and whether it opens on the day it was meant to. Both come down to the same discipline. We run the joinery, bar construction and feature finishes alongside the commercial kitchen and the services behind it, and we hold the program against an opening date that will not move.
These builds carry more compliance than they look like they should. Exhaust and grease, acoustic treatment, fire services, health and building surveyor sign-off all have to land before doors open, so we bring them forward rather than leave them to the end.
Medical and Dental
Clinics, consulting suites and dental practices, where the fit-out has to satisfy requirements the average tenancy never sees: infection control and hygienic finishes, lead lining to imaging rooms, and specialist services such as medical gas, dedicated power and data.
Much of this work is built inside a practice that is still seeing patients, so it is staged room by room, out of hours where it has to be, with dust and noise controlled and the space handed back clean and ready to use.
Hotel Renovations
Guest room and public area refurbishment in operating hotels. The building keeps trading while we work, so the job runs floor by floor: rooms taken offline in blocks and handed back to a schedule, noise curfews observed, and guest lifts and frontage kept clear by moving materials and trades through back-of-house.
Glazing Upgrades
Replacing and upgrading glazing on existing buildings, whether for performance, compliance or the look of the facade. The build itself is the straightforward part. The planning is not: facade access and craneage, working at height and over public areas, weather sealing as panels come out and go back in, and keeping the building watertight and secure between the two.
